Why didn't Simon go back instead of having a new baby?

There are several reasons Simon did not return, until later in the book anyway. The main reason is that Rachk'sha would have known Simon if he did return and would have destroyed him before Simon achieved his full powers. Simon returns only after Rachk'sha thinks he's already gotten 'The Seed' out of the way. If I tell you more, it might spoil the story for you.

I'm really enjoying these questions that people are posting on my forum. If any of you have a question and don't have access to the forum, feel free to post a comment and I'll be happy to answer.

Why does The Lady live in a garden?

Answer:
When Maker created the four universes, He created The Lady, The Lord, The Duke and The Duchess to rule over them. Each was given a home in the center of their universe that they would find pleasant. The Lady is most comfortable in a garden, so The Garden was Maker's gift to her. Time cannot touch The Garden, though the rhythms of nature exist there. Since there are so many plants, there are two seasons and rains fall to nourish the life within the garden. The two seasons are the Season of Bloom, when all the plants are in full leaf and flower, and the Season of Dormancy, which is when the plants have time to grow their roots and rest.

The Lady is a very powerful goddess. She has no need for a dwelling, sleep, or rest. She spends her life enjoying The Garden Maker provided for her and watching over her creations in her universe. So, in summary, The Lady lives in a garden because that is where she is most happy.

Random Chaos Update:
*For a limited time, the Kindle version of Shadow of the Ghost is specially priced at 99 cents.
*Legacy of the Ghost is very near completion. Most likely, I have about 4 or 5 chapters to go. It will be published using CreateSpace and will also be available on Kindle. Hopefully, Legacy will have some interior artwork.

Shadow of the Ghost is now available on Kindle. Hopefully, more people will take the chance and read it.

There is a great trilogy out there written by C.S. Marks. Elfhunter, Fire-Heart & Ravenshade. They fall into the genre of high-fantasy and are excellently written.

C.S. and I are doing an informal short story wherein The Lord of Chaos pays a visit to Alterra. Chronologically, this story will fall between Legacy of the Ghost and Vengeance of the Ghost. So far, I've really enjoyed our dialogue and it looks like it will be an entertaining little tale.

Ky's family tree...

Ky's parents are Maker, the supreme diety of the four universes, and The Lady, the surpeme goddess of the universe the story takes place in. Ky has one older brother, Simon. Due to the time Simon spent in The Garden, Ky passed him in age.

After Ky's exile from the Eldar elves, he encountered a ghost family. The daughter, Illya, and Ky conceived a child which Illya named Little Ky. This conception resulted from a mixing of several magicks. Shortly after Little Ky's inheritance, the child was attacked and ripped to shreds. Ky spent most of his pre-Lord of Chaos life trying to find a way to bring Little Ky back to life. This path led him and his friends to replace the former gods of their planet. Unfortunately, the memories of their former lives were stripped from them when they became gods.

In the process of destroying the former gods, Ky killed the twin of Laena. Laena sought revenge and traveled the pathways of the gods in search of Ky. She ended up in Chaos with no memory of her purpose. Ky found her and decided to help her spirit become complete by magically giving her a daughter. This was done with the aid of Archos.

The result of this conception was the intended daughter, Eleana and two brothers, Tal and Ky II. Ky, being locked in childhood by his exile, left the raising of the triplets to Laena and the other members of The Nine. Shadow of the Ghost tells the story of how Ky and his friends regain their memories and the struggle with Karn-Rachk'sha as a result.
